I know that large/quadruped/etc can get past me, but how many times can 1 monster survive being pounced multiple times and taking 2-3 attacks leaving my threatened range? So having a heal handy would be a nice to have if I have lots/big mobs on me. If neither succeed, I get to pounce back on them and do some serious hurt on them again. The reason I did the heal strike instead of stand still was that if the monster wanted to leave my threatened range (10ft circle around me /w spiked chain), I get a couple trip attempts. I don't see any feat that I am missing for either pounce or the tanking via tripping. Going back and reading the feat's text, I don't see anything to counter that? That said, I was split on whether to do stand still vs martial study at 3. I got the idea from one of the warblade handbooks under feats. You "cast" it as if it was on your maneuver list, so long as you met the pre-reqs (which crusader's strike doesn't have). I thought the point of martial study was to get a new maneuver and it doesn't need to be one that is in your normal list. My bad on the mixup on maneuvers and stances. Oops, was going through and doing maneuvers/stances 2 hours after I should of been asleep. L1: Moment of Perfect Mind, Charging Minotaur, Leading the ChargeĪny thoughts or suggestions? Do I have my maneuvers correct (2 barb means at 2nd level of warblade I get lvl 2 maneuvers)? L8 Warblade Feature: Improved Uncanny Dodge Human: Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Spiked Chain) Since we don't go that high, I am not sure the LA is worth it. Human for feat, or maybe goliath for powerful build. Warblade doesn't do much with laying out builds, and most builds focus on high level play. Read through the barbarian and warblade handbooks. Want something highly playable the entire way. But I don't want to make any mistakes either.

Most of the party is pretty laid back without much optimization, so I don't need to squeeze everything out of this character to compete. Ability scores are 4d6, drop lowest and reroll below 10s.

Just finished an evil campaign, so guessing we are going back to good, maybe allowed neutral. I am guessing he will be doing rogue again, so I figured a front-line warrior would complement rather than stealing his thunder with a 2nd rogue.Īnyways, we have all 3.5 books open to us, but no magazine. We have someone who played a rogue, but was only in for the last couple sessions before we reset. We are going to roll up our next characters next session. (Eventually looking to DM, but feel my knowledge of melee classes is lacking.) So I am tempted towards a rogue or charging barbarian/warblade type character. I have the basics of melee combat done from my summons, and am looking to expand on knowing melee classes. First two I played was a Master Of Shrouds/Summoner and a druid. So for my 3rd character, I am looking to play a melee character.
